The Tennessee Titans made a massive investment in rebuilding their offensive line during the offseason with the additions of Dan Moore and Kevin Zeitler. They brought in the two veteran linemen specifically to fix what was arguably the worst unit in the NFL during the 2024 season.

While Moore received many of the headlines after signing his megadeal, the addition of Zeitler on a one-year deal may be the acquisition that pays bigger dividends. Zeitler should not only come in and anchor the interior of the line, but his veteran presence should leave a lasting imprint on the unit for years to come.

Zeitler boasts a wealth of experience, having played for six different franchises over his 14-year career, and is still performing at a high level at 35 years old. He is coming off one of his best seasons in 2024 with the Detroit Lions, and the Titans believe he will be able to duplicate that performance in 2025.

Tennessee isn’t alone in its thinking. Ryan Smith of Pro Football Focus (PFF) shares similar thoughts, placing Zeitler firmly on his list of late-career veterans still playing at a high level.

G Kevin Zeitler, Tennessee Titans

The Titans will be Zeitler’s sixth NFL team, which is surprising, given how well he’s played over his career, grading lower than 71.6 overall just once in 13 seasons. His lone year in Detroit was excellent, ranking fourth among 73 qualifying guards with an 86.5 PFF grade — his highest since the 2014 season.

The former first-round pick out of Wisconsin has been remarkably durable, averaging 1,038 snaps per season. In Tennessee, he will be tasked with protecting No. 1 overall pick quarterback Cam Ward.

The Titans are counting on Zeitler to continue playing at a high level. Now the elder statesman of the offensive line, he will be tasked with helping the young group come together and become an asset to the offense, rather than the massive dead zone it was in 2024.

Zeitler’s experience will be significant, given that a rookie quarterback is likely to be under center when the season opens in Denver.
