Frankie Luvu Sends Perfectly Clear Message To Commanders Teammates originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
It has been some time since the Washington Commanders were considered a title threat around the NFL. An upstart bunch last season, they shocked the league after knocking off two division champions to reach the NFC Championship Game.

Washington ultimately fell short on that stage, but there is a belief now that this group can still square up with the best around the league and make another deep playoff run.
Evidenced in their activity through the offseason, the Commanders are not just hoping to participate in the postseason. They have made the moves to best position themselves for the next step in 2025.
Commanders linebacker Frankie Luvu is leading the charge, calling his teammates to action. Luvu wants the team mentally prepared to leave last season in the rearview.
“I know it’s unfinished business. We left a lot out there last year, but last year was last year,” Luvu said via the team website. “This year is a new beginning, new start. We just gotta do the work now so when the time does come, we can celebrate.”

Others within the locker room have reflected the same mindset. Jayden Daniels has poured in extra preparation this offseason, hoping to avoid any slump in his second season. It’s no surprise that such ambitions are trickling down to other areas of the team.
Trades to add talents like Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil are also reflective of this. Despite having many of the same key players from the 2024 squad, this is a new team embracing a greater challenge this time around.
The rigor of an NFL schedule and the gauntlet of opponents looking to accomplish the same goal means there’s no guarantee that everything will work out in Washington’s favor.
But there is an abundance of focus and a readiness to leave everything out on the field once again.
