However, many are already thinking about what he will do once his collegiate career is over. CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards’ 2026 NFL mock draft even has the quarterback going No. 1.

On Friday, in a video posted to the “On Texas Football” YouTube channel, the 21-year-old Manning detailed his overall thoughts on people’s expectations and how he plans on facing the pressure ahead.

“Yeah, I mean, I really don’t pay much attention to anyone, what they think besides my coaches, my parents and some close friends that will tell me the truth,” Manning said. “But I’m not worried about what other people think. I’m just going to go out there, have fun and play my game.”

Last year, Manning appeared in 10 games, completing 61 of 90 passes for 939 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions while also rushing for 108 yards and four touchdowns.

One of Manning’s best performances came against Mississippi State last season, where he started in place of an injured Quinn Ewers, completing 26 of 31 passes for 325 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions, with 33 rushing yards and one touchdown.

ESPN BET gives him the best odds (+600) to win the Heisman Trophy.

Manning will lead Texas on the road into a tough Week 1 matchup against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Aug. 30 at 12 p.m. ET.
