GREEN BAY (WLUK) — Packers Training Camp is still about a month away, but that didn’t stop running back Josh Jacobs from making an early trip back to Titletown.
On Friday, the Packers running back held a youth camp for children ages 7 to 14.
The camp not only allowed kids the opportunity to hang out a NFL All-Pro running back, but spend time outside with kids their age going through various football drills.
“Man it’s been fun,” Jacobs said about hosting his first camp in Green Bay. “There’s a lot of athletes out here that have caught me by surprise.”
The camp was open for both boys and girls with Jacobs impressed by what he saw from the girls.
“A lot of little girls out here too that actually can ball so that’s good to see. That’s good for the game,” Jacobs said. “Just being able to be out here at Titletown it’s a blessing.”
Jacobs wasn’t the only NFL back at the camp.
Bay Port alum and current Dolphins fullback Alec Ingold, who played for the Raiders with Jacobs for two seasons, also came out to help with the camp.
“He’s the best fullback in football but he’s an even better man. Since I met him he’s always been my dawg,” Jacobs said. “Always been genuine. Most hard-working, humble man I’ve ever met. For him to be able to come out, it’s an honor for me.”
Several stations were set up for campers to rotate around to with each station presenting a new football drill. Jacobs rotated to each station to make sure he could spend time with every camper.
“I think the best part about it [the camp] is just to give back to the kids,” Jacobs said. “I mean these kids, they ask some crazy questions. But it’s been fun being able to talk to them and actually look them in the eye, shake their hands and just have a conversation with them. I think that’s major not only for confidence but just who they are.”
Despite playing just one season in Green Bay, Jacobs has quickly grown into a fan favorite. His play on the field helped with that after he ran for 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2024.
The Packers will be back together on July 23 when training camp begins.
