The Los Angeles Rams are bringing back a familiar face who recently played in the UFL, but it’s not league MVP Bryce Perkins. Instead, they’re set to sign quarterback Dresser Winn, who has had two previous stints with the Rams since 2023.
Winn spent this past spring in the UFL playing for the Memphis Showboats, where he started four games. He threw for 834 yards and three touchdowns, also rushing for 52 yards and one score. Winn did throw four interceptions, which was tied for the third-most of any quarterback despite only attempting 137 passes (80 completions).
Winn originally joined the Rams in 2023 as an undrafted free agent out of UT Martin. He spent the offseason in L.A. but was waived in late August. He then had a three-week stop in the CFL with the Edmonton Elks before re-joining the Rams on their practice squad in November of that year.

This will be his third stint with the Rams, though he has yet to make the 53-man roster or be promoted from the practice squad.
With Winn joining the team, the Rams now have four quarterbacks on their roster: Matthew Stafford, Jimmy Garoppolo, Stetson Bennett and Winn. Stafford and Garoppolo won’t play in the preseason, so Winn could just be an insurance policy in case Bennett gets hurt in a game.
