The Denver Broncos might not have the best defensive line group in the NFL, but they certainly have one of the best units in the league.

Exactly where the Broncos‘ line should be ranked is up for debate. Zoltán Buday of Pro Football Focus recently released his rankings of the top 32 defensive lines in the league, and he has Denver ranked eighth.

The Broncos ranked eighth in takeaways (25), third in points allowed (18.3) and first in sacks (63) last fall, thanks in large part to their impressive defensive line. However, Buday has seven units ranked above them.

Broncos defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers gave his unfiltered response on social media:

Despite ranking them outside the top five, Buday gave Denver’s line a glowing review.

“The Broncos’ defensive line might be the deepest in the league, with seven players ranking among the top 50 at their respective positions in PFF overall grade in 2024,” Buday wrote for PFF. “Denver’s defense generated pressure on a league-leading 40.7% of plays without blitzing, showing what the defensive line is capable of.”

Perhaps they should be ranked a bit higher then?
