Take a look as Indianapolis Colts defensive end Laiatu Latu goes through pass rush drills prior to training camp beginning in just a few weeks.
Latu is coming off a rookie season where he totaled 38 pressures, which was the second-most on the team, and four sacks. Compared to his position group league-wide, Latu ranked 50th in pressures.

He was recently our pick to be the Colts‘ top breakout candidate. The big reason for that is the underlying numbers from a season ago show a player who won his matchups regularly. In PFF’s pass rush win rate metric, Latu ranked 27th, and when a player can consistently win his one-on-ones, the production usually follows.
In addition to that, the more aggressive and disguise-heavy defensive scheme under Lou Anarumo should provide the defensive front with some help by taking away the quick throws and by providing some added time to get home.
“He does it the right way,” Steichen said via the team site of Latu earlier this offseason. “The way he works, his work ethic is tremendous. I think you’ll see a big jump from Year 1 to Year 2. I think he had four (sacks) his rookie year, if we can get into double digits in Year 2, that’d be tremendous.”
