Tennessee Titans cornerback L’Jarius Sneed offered a brief update on his health, speaking to media for the first time since the end of his topsy-turvy first season in Nashville.
“I’m healthy,” Sneed told NBC6 News in Shreveport, La., over the weekend. “I’m as healthy as I’ve been. Last year, my first year, didn’t go as planned. But it’s time to show the world what God’s been instilling in me this entire year. I’m ready to get back on the field. That’s my life. That’s what I do for a living. I missed a whole year and I have to remind everybody who L’Jarius Sneed is.”
Sneed only played in five games for the Titans in 2024. The 28-year-old cornerback came to Nashville via a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs and signed a four-year contract worth a maximum of $76.4 million but was seldom able to translate the hype into time on the field. He sat out most of training camp and offseason activities on load management due to a pre-existing knee injury, then struggled through the first five weeks of the season before injuring his quad and ultimately missing the rest of the season because of it.
Sneed was seen in videos with teammates on the field during the early portions of the team’s 2025 offseason activities but was not on the field and practicing for any OTAs or minicamp practices that were open to media.
In addition to Sneed’s injury log, he also has a civil case looming in Texas related to an alleged shooting incident outside of a car dealership. Per court documents logged in Dallas County, Texas, Sneed’s deposition hearing is scheduled for July 18.
Getting Sneed healthy and ready to play is a huge difference-maker for the Titans defense. Beyond Sneed, the Titans don’t boast much veteran talent across the cornerback room. Nickel corner Roger McCreary is heading into the final year of his rookie contract, and the rest of the Titans’ would-be contributors at cornerback are in Year 3 or younger. This includes returning contributors like Jarvis Brownlee Jr., and Darrell Baker Jr., as well as rookies like Marcus Harris.
