Wednesday Injury Report

The Seahawks practiced without five players to start the week of preparation but three of those non-participants sat out for resting purposes. The two players who did not practice on Wednesday due to injury were tackle Abraham Lucas and defensive end Leonard Williams as they are listed with knee and foot injuries respectively. Despite both players being listed on the injury report in recent weeks, they have not missed any game action because of their injuries. Lucas returned from a knee injury that kept him out in every game before the bye week and has started the past three games.

Williams, who is coming off of a defensive player of the week award for his performance against the Jets, has been on the injury report in recent weeks but that has not prevented him from playing. In the past two weeks, Williams has recorded 4.5 sacks, six tackles for loss, a 92-yard interception return for a touchdown and a blocked PAT. Despite the injury, Williams hasn’t been listed on the game status report in the past few games. Williams has said that the injury affects his preparation during the week but has not had an impact on his on-field performance.

Five players were limited on Wednesday, including wide receiver DK Metcalf who is dealing with a shoulder injury. Metcalf briefly exited the win over the Jets with a knee injury but quickly returned to the field. He was first listed with a shoulder injury on last week’s report but downplayed the injury when speaking to the media prior to Wednesday’s practice. Running back Kenneth Walker III was limited today as he is dealing with an ankle/calf injury. Punter Michael Dickson suffered a back injury against the Jets and was not able to punt the rest of the game but was able to continue serving as the field goal holder. Linebacker Ernest Jones IV (knee) and tight end Brady Russell (foot) were the other two players limited to start the week.

Tackle Stone Forsythe and linebacker Uchenna Nwosu were recently designated to return to practice after spending four weeks on injured reserve. Both players were full participants on Wednesday and are making good progress towards returning to game action.

“Those guys have a chance,” said head coach Mike Macdonald. “We’ll see how the week goes, when we activate them and all that, but excited about both of them. Really, everyone that has gone on IR has just worked their tails off, so when they get their opportunities, it’ll be exciting.”

The Arizona Cardinals only had one player miss practice on Wednesday, offensive lineman Kelvin Beachum who sat out for resting purposes. Two defensive lineman, Darius Robinson and Dante Stills were limited with calf and back injuries respectively.
