Indianapolis Colts’ tight end Tyler Warren landed in the top 10 of Pro Football Focus’ fantasy football dynasty rookie rankings.
PFF’s Nathan Jahnke recently took stock, as he put it, of this year’s rookie class by ranking his top 60 players and how they fit into dynasty leagues.
Warren came in at No. 9 in these rankings.
“He now lands with the Colts, a team that has operated with a three- or four-man rotation at tight end in recent years. That should end with Warren, who projects as the team’s every-down player. While there is some concern about Anthony Richardson’s short-range accuracy, Warren has a real chance to lead the Colts in targets as a rookie. His overall ceiling may be capped in Indianapolis’ offense, but he should be one of the safer fantasy options at the position.”
If OTAs and minicamp are a sign of what’s to come, then not surprisingly, Warren is going to have his share of targets in the Colts’ passing game this season.
As Stephen Holder, who covers the Colts for ESPN, wrote recently, it was “practically impossible to watch an Indianapolis practice and not notice how often Warren touched the football.”
Warren is coming off a 2024 season at Penn State where he caught over 100 passes and totaled over 1,200 yards. Within the Colts’ offense, as GM Chris Ballard described after the NFL draft, Warren can be a real threat over the middle of the field on short to intermediate routes, where his combination of size, athleticism, and sure hands makes him a difficult matchup.
Although blocking and versatility don’t score points in fantasy football, Warren brings those two elements to the Colts offense as well, which can help enhance his passing game impact and his overall impact on the offense.
