It’s safe to say tight end Jonnu Smith is happy to be joining the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Smith was sent to Pittsburgh in the trade that also netted the Steelers cornerback Jalen Ramsey. In return, the Miami Dolphins received safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, and the two teams swapped late-round picks.

Making Smith even happier was the fact that the Steelers gave him a one-year, $12 million extension, which no doubt satisfies him after he couldn’t get a raise from Miami.

Just days after he was acquired by the Steelers, Smith dropped a hype video on X that shows he’s even more excited to be going to the Steel City than we thought.

Smith enjoyed a career-best season with the Dolphins in 2024. The former third-round pick tallied 88 catches for 884, both of which were career-highs, and he posted eight touchdowns en route to earning his first Pro Bowl selection.

Now, Smith reunites with Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, who was both his OC with the Tennessee Titans and head coach with the Atlanta Falcons.

The Steelers were in need of another pass-catcher after trading away George Pickens. Smith check that box and also gives the Steelers one of the best one-two punches at tight end in the NFL, along with Pat Freiermuth.
