NFL Network undertook an interesting experiment when they took all the players currently in the NFL and threw them all into a pool for a full seven-round redraft. The stipulation was that teams were picking for a win-now mentality. We took a look at the picks for the Pittsburgh Steelers to see how they broke down, if the team wants to win now.
Here is how the seven rounds played out for the Steelers.

First round – RB Saquon Barkley
Second round – QB Caleb Williams
Third round – DT Cam Heyward
Fourth round – EDGE Nik Bonitto
Fifth round – DB Cooper DeJean
Sixth round – WR Zay Flowers
Seventh round – G Tyler Booker
Leading off with Barkley is about as on-the-nose a pick for a Steelers team. Barkley is still one of the top running backs in the league and a perfect fit. We are less excited about quarterback Caleb Williams in the second round but the run on quarterbacks made the pick necessary.
If we took each of these players, put them on the Steelers and took off the guy they replace (minus Heyward), is this a better team than what the Steelers will put on the field in 2025? Aside from Barkley, I’d argue no.
