Report: NFL Team Might Go To President Trump For Help originally appeared on The Spun.
An NFL team might have to ask President Donald Trump for some assistance in the coming months.
It’s no secret the Washington Commanders are looking to relocate. The hope is they’ll make the site of RFK Stadium their home once again. However, politicians in the nation’s capital aren’t 100% certain a deal will get done this year.

“I’m concerned right now that everybody buckle down and get to work,” Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said. “I’m not concerned about our deal. Our deal is solid. It pays off for D.C. And at the end of the day, I think everybody wants the same thing. I would put my level of concern – because when you’re a big city mayor you’re concerned about everything – I’ll put it at a four.”
According to FOX 5, the Commanders hosted a dinner for members of the D.C. Council to discuss business. The latest report shared insight on the team’s fallback plan.
If the D.C. Council can’t get a deal done that would open the stadium up by 2030, the president of the United States may be asked to step in.

D.C. Council chairperson Phil Mendelson has heard that “Plan B” for the Commanders involves them reaching out to President Trump and members of Congress.

Trump has not recently commented on the Commanders’ stadium plans. He did, however, share some of his thoughts in May.
“I think it’ll be great for everybody, great for our country. It’ll be something very special. There’s no scene like it. There’s no sight like it. My whole life was based on sites, locations, and as soon as I looked at that rendering, it’s going to be beautiful. It’s going to really be beautiful,” the president said. “If you go back, it’s right behind the Capitol, miles behind, but nevertheless visually right behind it. So it’s going to be an architect’s dream. …It will be top of the line. I know these people very well, and they only know about top-of-the-line, and I would say that more will be put into this stadium than would be put into an identical stadium of a similar size. I think they’re going to do a special (job) because of the importance of the location.”
