It is the time of the offseason, as we have done for years here on Cards Wire, where we go through each position and rank players and position groups in the NFC West. We continue by looking at the four starting running backs for the Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks.

The starting running backs didn’t change this year.

How do they stack up against one another this year?

1. Christian McCaffrey, 49ers

McCaffrey didn’y have a good year in 2024, as he was riddled by injuries. He played in only four games and had 202 rushing yards. But he is still the best back in the NFL until he isn’t. If he has a second-straight injury-filled year, we will consider bumping him from the top.

2. Kyren Williams, Rams

Williams was a workhorse in 2024. He had 350 total touches, including 316 carries, 88 more carries than in 2023. He had a career-high 1,299 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. He also had two touchdown catches among his 34 receptions. His efficiency decreased but he was the motor of the Rams’ offense.

Conner had a second straight career year, rushing for 1,094 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 4.6 yards per attempt. He also had 47 receptions for 414 yards and a score, giving him a career-high 1,508 total yards from scrimmage. He is as impactful as the top running backs in the league.

4. Kenneth Walker III, Seahawks

Walker played in only 11 games and his efficiency dipped to 3.7 yards per carry. He had 573 rushing yards and 46 catches for 299 yards.
