New England Patriots legend Rodney Harrison can now say he belongs in two separate Hall of Fames.
The Patriots inducted the two-time Super Bowl champion into the Patriots Hall of Fame in 2019. On social media, the Los Angeles Chargers revealed they will be inducting Harrison into the Chargers Hall of Fame as well in a halftime ceremony slated for Thursday, October 23.

Harrison played 15 years in the NFL, including nine with the Chargers. He appeared in 123 games and started in 97. He had 760 combined tackles and 21.5 sacks throughout those nine seasons. He eventually landed with the Patriots as a free agent in 2003 and instantly became one of the core leaders of the defense under coach Bill Belichick.
Overall, Harrison had 1,206 combined tackles and 30.5 sacks throughout 15 seasons.
“Rodney personified an era of Chargers football defined by physicality, emotion, relentless effort, toughness and grit,” said President of Football Operations John Spanos, via Chargers.com. “For nearly a decade, he gave everything he had to the Chargers, establishing a standard of accountability and setting the bar for competitive greatness.
Some would argue that Harrison’s career is worthy of a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

He was one of the most physical and dominant safeties of his era. The Patriots named him to their All-2000s Team and All-Dynasty Team. Both are worthy honors for one of the best defensive backs to ever wear a Patriots uniform.
The Chargers obviously felt the same way and made him the 36th player in franchise history to be inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame.
