WASHINGTON — The Washington Commanders are set to unveil a new alternate helmet and uniform on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, the team announced this week.

The new alternate will mark the fourth uniform combination under the league’s updated equipment rules, which now allow teams up to three helmet shells and four uniform options per season.

The current uniform lineup includes the traditional burgundy home jersey, white road jersey and an all-black alternate set. This new reveal is expected to introduce a refreshed helmet featuring the team’s signature “W” logo, although some fans hope the design will give a nod to earlier eras in franchise history, such as the spear or circle-R logos from the 1960s and 1970s.

The July 9 debut will be featured on Commanders.com and shared across the team’s official social media accounts. Fans are encouraged to check the website on Wednesday, July 9, for the official reveal. The team has been teasing the new design across various platforms, including Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and Facebook. Supporters are advised to turn on notifications to stay up to date.
