The Colts need quarterback depth with Anthony Richardson’s injury status. So they’re bringing in a fourth-year veteran for a try out.
INDIANAPOLIS — Former Falcons starting quarterback Desmond Ridder is trying out for the Colts at the team’s mandatory minicamp this week.Ridder, a third-round pick by Atlanta in 2022, spent the entire 2023 season as the Falcons starter, completing 64.2% of his passes for 2,836 yards, 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.But the Falcons released Ridder after signing Kirk Cousins and drafting Michael Penix Jr. in 2024, and Ridder spent the season with the Raiders, making just one start for Las Vegas.
The Colts are without quarterback Anthony Richardson, who is rehabbing a shoulder injury after receiving a second opinion. The team signed Daniel Jones in free agency to create competition.
