We are less than a month to the start of Pittsburgh Steelers training camp and so to fill the void, let’s take a look at a new three-round mock draft from Pro Football Network for 2026. All signs are pointing to the Steelers going all-in for a quarterback in the 2026 NFL draft, so as with most mock drafts at this point, the Steelers go quarterback in the first.

After the first round, it’s really a crapshoot where Pittsburgh will go at this point. This is especially true after trading safety Minkah Fitzpatrick for cornerback Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonny Smith. Let’s break down the picks in PFN’s newest mock.

One note. PFN neglected to give the Steelers a pick in the third round in the spot where the Dallas Cowboys picked. The Steelers have that pick thanks to the George Pickens trade so in this breakdown, we will talk about who we would have taken at No. 76 overall.

First round – QB Garrett Nussmeier – LSU

Of all the quarterbacks we have a first-round grade on right now, Nussmeier is the guy I can see tumble in the pre-draft process. His measurables aren’t great and he’s not the athlete of the other guys in the first round. He’s going to need an elite season to show his football IQ and processing speed can replace his lack of size and athleticism.

Second round – CB A.J. Harris – Penn State

Signing Ramsey makes us wonder if the Steelers would commit a second-round pick to any cornerback, but if they do, A.J. Harris is a solid option.

Third round – S Dalton Brooks – Texas Tech

We really want to see how Juan Thornhill and Sebastian Castro look this season but if the Steelers cannot find a starter on the roster, we could see them going for a safety even sooner.

Third round

In this mock, they have the Cowboys selecting Texas Tech edge defender David Bailey. This pick belongs to the Steelers via trade and we definitely don’t see Bailey as the pick. In this scenario, the pick would be Baylor wide receiver Josh Cameron.
