Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams has enjoy a solid start to his NFL career.
After an injured-riddled rookie season in 2022, Williams broke out over the past two years as the Rams’ starting running back. He’s rushed for more than 1,000 yards in each of the past two seasons and scored 31 combined touchdowns.

Even after such great success, Williams said he doesn’t think he’s at his best yet.
“I don’t feel like I’ve touched my peak yet,” Williams told RG.org’s DJ Siddiqi. “I’ve gotten to where I wanted to be, but I’m determined to make this my best season.”
The key things Williams said he wants to improve on are his explosive runs and creating “more opportunities for my guys around me to be successful.
“However that looks,” he added, “whether that’s pass blocking, catching the ball, breaking long runs, converting first downs, do everything I can to make sure that I’m the best I can be consistently this year.”

This is a big year for Williams for another reason: He and the Rams are in long-term contract extension negotations ahead of the final year of his rookie contract.
While he could be a candidate for the franchise tag next year, the Rams could let Williams walk in free agency if they can’t agree on the numbers for a new deal. L.A. has recently drafted two running backs in Blake Corum and Jarquez Hunter who could supplant Williams in the event he doesn’t remain with the Rams past this season.
But while both sides continue to talk, Williams is focused on the 2025 season.
