The 4th of July celebrations have come and gone, and some thought that this might have been the time that Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce might have proposed to his long-time girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
In fact, some thought it might have been coming after the Super Bowl had the Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles, but it didn’t happen.
And for those expecting some big announcement after the 4th of July celebrations, well, a source close to the couple just delivered a hammer blow.
“Travis isn’t going to ask for her hand in marriage this weekend,” an insider told the Daily Mail. “He is likely going to pop the question, but it is going to be when he isn’t playing anymore and not getting ready for a big NFL season.”

So we now know there won’t be a shiny new piece of hardware on Taylor’s hand, but the source did say that Travis will be asking for Swift’s hand in marriage, but after he ‘s finished playing in the NFL.
Right, so now we have a timeline.
The 2025 season is expected to be Kelce’s last, and although he hasn’t said as such, the general feeling is that perhaps the rigors of NFL football are beginning to catch up with the 35-year-old future Hall of Famer.
So, when Travis does retire, according to the unnamed source, Kelce might get down on one knee and ask Taylor to marry him.
We don’t know when that will be, but the fact that we now know it will happen is quite the update.
