The NFL is full of household names who are recognized by fans across the league as some of the best at their positions, with many of those still on their rookie contracts. These foundational players are the cornerstones teams build around in their quest for success.

Next to those well-known stars, there is a group of young, ascending players on every roster. The group may not have met its potential or lived up to its draft pedigree, but it appears poised to take that next step.

For the Tennessee Titans, several players fall into this category. Offensive tackle JC Latham, tight end Chig Okonkwo, defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat, and cornerback Jarvis Brownlee still have room to grow, but have the potential to develop into those foundational pieces in Nashville.

Another player who is on the rise is guard Peter Skoronski, who hasn’t quite lived up to his first-round expectations but appears ready for bigger and better things in 2025.

Skoronski was one of the most consistent linemen for the Titans in 2024 and seems to be a potential building block for the future. Moe Moton of Bleacher Report agrees and tapped Skoronski as the Titans’ most promising building block heading into the season.

Tennessee Titans: G Peter Skoronski

In two seasons, Peter Skoronski hasn’t played up to first-round expectations. He’s an average run-blocker who’s yet to move the needle for an offensive line that’s undergone significant changes over the past few years.

However, Skoronski made strides in pass-blocking last season. According to Pro Football Focus, he only allowed four sacks while on the field for 661 pass-blocking snaps.

Even as a guard, Skoronski’s development in that aspect bodes well for rookie quarterback Cameron Ward, who will need solid pass protection to elevate the Tennessee Titans offense.

Skoronski must reduce his penalties from last year (eight), but he possesses the technical tools, particularly in his light feet, to make notable strides in 2025.

Skoronski was solid in 2024 and made significant strides in his second season in the league as he transitioned from college tackle to NFL guard. While he hasn’t quite put it all together on the field, he has improved throughout his time in Tennessee. Now with veteran Kevin Zeitler in the room to assist in his development, he has a very good chance at reaching his ceiling and tapping into the Pro Bowl potential that made him a first-rounder.

Skoronski was arguably their best lineman last season and enters 2025 entrenched at left guard and should only continue to improve. He should also benefit from the acquisition of Dan Moore at left tackle and the return of center Lloyd Cushenberry at the pivot, which should help stabilize the unit around him and allow him to help anchor the Titans’ offensive line for years to come.
