Happy Sunday Husky fans. The Husky coaches are mostly in vacation mode the next couple of weeks, but that doesn’t mean recruiting will stop. The 2026 Husky class currently ranks as the 22nd best class in the country with 17 total commits in the class. With another 5-8 spots left in the class the Huskies are looking at adding a few more commits in their class. Here is a look at where the Huskies stand with a few of their top targets:
It sounds like 4 star defensive back Davon Benjamin from Oaks Christian HS, CA could make a decision sometime in the next months. The Huskies are battling Oregon in their pursuit for the talented defensive back. The Huskies would love to add the versatile Benjamin to the class and they were able to get the last shot at impressing him over the June 20th recruiting weekend. Benjamin would be one of the jewels of the class if the Huskies could close on him (and be a massive victory over Oregon on the recruiting trail). Benjamin is rated as the 5th best safety in the country by 247sports.
4 star running back Brian Bonner from Valencia HS, CA is another top Husky target that should announce his commitment this month. Rated as the 6th best class in the country by 247sports, Bonner is one of the elite running backs in the country. The Huskies appear to be battling UCLA in the fight to land Bonner. It sounds like Bonner is truly torn between the schools right now and his recruitment could go either way. The Huskies already have a commitment from 3 star running back Ansu Sanoe and Dre Pollard (who projects as either a running back or a receiver for the Huskies). If the Huskies can close on Bonner that should wrap up running back recruiting in the 2026 class.
4 star defensive tackle T.I Umu-Cais from Cherry Creek HS, CO is another top target for the Huskies who should be announcing his decision relatively soon. The Huskies hosted Umu-Cais in June for an official visit and the Huskies are battling Oklahoma, UCLA, Colorado, and North Carolina for him. It’s no mystery that the Huskies have struggled to recruit the defensive line in the 2026 cycle and the Huskies would love to close on Umu-Cais. We shall see where his recruitment goes and the longer it drags out it appears that Oklahoma could be a real threat to nab him.
There are also some flip candidates down the line that the Huskies will likely be in the mix for. That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
