The Cougars headed to the Lone Star State

LJ Martin has led BYU in rushing over the past two years. With Jake Retzlaff out at quarterback, will this be Martin’s career-year in Provo? He’ll be joined by Chase Roberts as two weapons in the Cougars offense. He’s one of the most experienced wideouts in the Big 12.

As for the defense, the core got much stronger thanks to Utah transfer Keanu Tanuvasa. He was one of the biggest pickups and considers being a BYU a dream scenario. Jack Kelly got acclimated with the Cougars last year and it led to a breakout season in 2024. He’ll lead BYU’s linebacker room this year. Kelly also has Isaiah Glasker, who is expected to make waves this year.
