Tennessee WR Xavier Restrepo continues to show primary reason he will make Titans’ final roster with short social media post originally appeared on A to Z Sports.

Tennessee Titans WR Xavier Restrepo is in the normally unenviable position of trying to land a spot on the 53-man roster as an undrafted free agent. Normally in the NFL, that’s a very steep uphill battle. However, Restrepo happens to have a luxury many UDFA’s don’t – an uncanny familiarity and relationship with the team’s franchise quarterback.

And while many NFL QBs will spend the offseason throwing with their veteran receivers, Cam Ward is spending some of his time working with his former Hurricanes teammate and fellow 2024 First Team All-American in Restrepo in Miami, as the latter demonstrated in a Twitter/X post on Sunday.

Ward and Restrepo put on a record-setting clinic during the 2024 season. Ward shattered school records for passing yards (4313), passing touchdowns (39), and completion percentage (67.2%) on the way to becoming the school’s first Heisman Trophy finalist since 2002.

Restrepo finished as Miami’s career leader in catches (200), receiving yards (2844), and touchdowns (20). However, a very underwhelming showing at Miami’s Pro Day – particularly in the 40-yard dash, where he ran times of 4.83 and 4.80 – took a major hit to his draft stock, knocking him out of the draft altogether.

But the connection between Ward and Restrepo is undeniable. The timing and anticipation between the two was top tier at the college level and should translate to continued success in the NFL.

Restrepo might not have straight line burner speed, but he’s shown to be fast enough on the football field to turn in big play after big play.

And with Ward’s familiarity with his game and the trust he has in his go-to weapon at the college level, not only should Restrepo make the 53-man roster, but there’s a substantial chance he carves out a role for himself in Tennessee’s offense by the end of the season.
