For months, Brayden Robinson‍ was scheduled to announce his decision on July 20th. But he moved that up a full two weeks after his official visit to Notre Dame, saying he was “most definitely” ready for the recruiting process to be over.

Of course, most importantly, the 2026 Texas receiver was definite about where he wanted to go.

On Sunday, Robinson announced that that school was Notre Dame, publicly committing to the Irish.

“I just felt most comfortable there,” Robinson told Irish Sports Daily prior to his announcement.

The Red Oak High School standout gives the Irish 25 verbal commitments in their 2026 recruiting class. He’s the fifth receiver to join the group and completed a clean sweep of the Wide Receiver Weekend, following Kaydon Finley‍ and Devin Fitzgerald‍, who announced on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Robinson chose Notre Dame over his other finalists, Arizona and Miami, along with a host of other offers.

“It feels good,” Robinson said. “I feel like I made the right decision. I’m looking forward to getting on campus in January.”

The 5-foot-8, 165-pound playmaker believes enrolling early will help set him up for success from the start.

“Just getting in the system and getting adjusted to school so it won’t be a heavy load coming forward during the football season,” he said.

Notre Dame led for much of the race, but Arizona and Miami both made compelling arguments during their official visits and Robinson acknowledged those trips making his decision more difficult.

But by the time he completed his official to South Bend, he had a pretty good idea where he wanted to go.

Robinson credited Irish wide receivers coach Mike Brown with having a big impact on his decision along with offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock, who laid out the plan for who he’d be used in his system, along with head coach Marcus Freeman.

He also felt comfortable with the other prospects in the Irish’s 2026 class.

“I’ve been talking to some of the guys who are committed already,” Robinson said. “I’m excited.”

In a matter of weeks, Irish fans have become accustomed to clean sweeps as Notre Dame has landed the commitment of every top prospect who took an official visit in June who has announced so far.

The Irish hosted 12 uncommitted targets over the course of a couple weeks last month. Nine have since announced their decisions – offensive linemen Grayson McKeogh‍ and Charlie Thom‍, defensive backs Khary Adams‍ and Joey O’Brien‍, tight ends Preston Fryzel‍ and Ian Premer‍ along with Finley, Fitzgerald and now Robinson.

Notre Dame is considered the favorite for safety Nicholas Reddish‍, who is set to announce this coming Friday as well as defensive lineman Elijah Golden‍, who will make his commitment on July 26th.

The 12th prospect is tight end Evan Jacobson‍, who the Irish are also assumed to be leaders for, but whether or not they’re willing to bring in a third tight end is unknown at the moment.
