Legendary NFL quarterback Troy Aikman is asking for prayers this weekend.

Texas was hit hard by flash flooding over the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Tragically, dozens of people are missing, with many presumed dead. At least 51 people are believed to be dead, with dozens of young girls missing from a summer camp.

“This is a historically flood-prone region … this is ‘flash flood alley,’ and in the National Weather Service has appropriately so named this region as a flood-prone area for many, many years,” said meteorologist Cary Burgess.

More rain could be falling soon, too. Heavy rain is expected on Sunday, July 6, as search and rescue operations continue throughout the state.

Meanwhile, Aikman, who won three Super Bowls while starring for the Dallas Cowboys, is asking everyone for prayers.

Aikman, who still lives in Dallas, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to ask everyone for prayers.

“My heart is with the children still missing in the Texas Hill Country—and with those who have been found and heartbreakingly lost. It’s impossible to put that kind of pain into words. I’m praying for the families still waiting, and for strength for those now grieving. Grateful for everyone doing the hard work to bring the rest of these kids home🙏🏼,” he wrote on X.

NFL fans are joining in.

“My family has been praying. I can’t even imagine,” one fan wrote.

“As someone who spent so much of my growing up years at a sleep away camp, and then the years as a camp counselor and instructor, I can’t even fathom something like this happening. I pray for all the families and pray that everyone will be found and accounted for. Also, praying for those boots on the ground doing the work none of us could imagine doing,” one fan added.

“The whole country is thinking of the flood victims in the Texas. Praying the missing will be found alive,” one fan added.

Our thoughts are with the friends and family members of everyone involved.
