On Sunday, the Roswell Invaders hosted the Pecos Bills for a one-game series. This was also the final event for the UFO Festival.

The Invaders entered the matchup with a 6-27 record and were coming off a three-game series against the Garden City Wind in Garden City, in which they were completely swept by the Wind. The Bills, who were 20-12 coming in, came off a three-game series against the Alpine Cowboys in Alpine. The Bills won two out of those three games. Both the Bills and the Invaders faced off four times before the Sunday matchup, with the Bills winning three out of the four.

In this matchup, the Bills were the best team throughout the game. On offense, the Bills scored in all but two innings, while on defense, they limited the Invaders to two runs for the entire game. The tally would be 10-2 by the bottom of the seventh inning, when the game would be called early due to weather, making the Bills the winner. The Bills’ record would move to 21-12, while the Invaders fell to 6-28.

The Invaders had one hit for the game and were walked eight times. Sloan Laird was the only Invaders player to get a hit. On defense, the Invaders committed two errors. Their starting pitcher was Ervis Slovis (39), and he pitched 4.0 innings, struck out two batters and walked three. Slovis allowed 11 hits and nine runs. Chad McShane (65) and Michael Martinez (19) combined to finish the game, with Slovis (39) being the losing pitcher.

The Bills had 13 hits and were walked six times. Greg Borges (1) and Wyatt Morgan (5) both tied with the most hits in the team, with three each. On defense, they committed no errors. Marty Carnahan (48) was their starting pitcher, and he pitched 5.0 innings, struck out seven batters, walked eight and allowed one hit and two runs. Zach Hill (98) finished the game, with Carnahan (48) being the winning pitcher.
