Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow had a heated conversation with head coach Zac Taylor during a December 2024 win against the Tennessee Titans.
Jomboy couldn’t say with certainty what Burrow said word-for-word, but attempted to break it down.

The sixth episode of the new season of the Netflix documentary “Quarterback,” featuring Burrow, doesn’t leave it open to interpretation.
Among the most frustrating plays for the Bengals was Jordan Battle’s fumble after losing the ball just shy of the goal line on what would have been a fumble recovery and return for a touchdown.

Taylor approached Burrow during the closing moments of the game, after a false start penalty.
“Way to finish the game,” Taylor says in the episode. “That’s a great drive finishing. I know it’s frustrating.”
“That’s an embarrassing performance by us,” Burrow says. “F—— embarrassing.”

“I know. We’ll address it,” Taylor says. “But at the same time, let’s enjoy some of these wins.”
“F— that. F— that,” Burrow says. “We sucked today. That was embarrassing. We jumped offsides f—— eight times.”
“I know that. I know that,” Taylor says.
Taylor addressed it later, with the following: “Sometimes I walk into an emotional moment, and I know I’m walking into an emotional moment. And it becomes a really emotional moment. And they may be viewed as conflict. It’s really just passion for the game.”
Burrow addressed it later as well: “I understand that we won the game, and we want to be happy that we won the game. But at the same time, when things aren’t good enough, I’m not gonna act like they were.”
