2024 recap
Hart was selected in the fifth round (No. 140 overall) of the 2024 NFL draft out of Notre Dame. Alongside fellow fifth-round pick Tarheeb Still, Hart showed plenty of promise in his rookie campaign. He appeared in 14 games with six starts, recording seven passes defended and one forced fumble. However, Hart dealt with multiple concussions and an ankle injury throughout the season, as well as a shoulder injury that he sustained during the playoff game against the Texans. Injuries were also an issue for Hart in college.

2025 outlook
After undergoing surgery for a torn labrum in January, Hart is eager for a healthy sophomore season. The Chargers did add some depth with the signings of Donte Jackson and Benjamin St-Juste. But it’s imperative he stays healthy to occupy one of the two outside spots for the entire season. When healthy, Hart is a difference-maker in the secondary, using his size, speed, and physicality to make plays. If Jesse Minter wants his defense to have success like it did last season, Hart’s availability is crucial.
Big question: Can Hart stay healthy for the entire 2025 season?
