The connection between New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye and wide receiver Stefon Diggs is slowly coming together behind the scenes.

Multiple players on offense, including Maye and Diggs, linked up ahead of training camp to work out together. The team is determined to get the offense back on track, and they are doubling down on the work outside of the building, given the many new additions to the roster.

Diggs, a former four-time Pro Bowler, was present at mandatory minicamp, but he didn’t participate in the competitive 11-on-11 team periods. He is still working his way through the torn ACL injury he suffered during his time with the Houston Texans last year.

So far, he looks to be ahead of schedule in his recovery, and there’s hope that he might even be healed enough to participate in training camp. The extra work is a sign that the key players on the roster are taking on the responsibility of preparing to the best of their ability. They aren’t just looking to show up at training camp and see how everything fits.

It’s a proactive group that could hold the keys to success for the organization as a whole.
