IRMO, S.C. (WACH) — Major Taylor, a rising Senior at Irmo High School, announced his commitment on Tuesday to play football at Yale upon graduation.

He told WACH FOX Sports when the Ivy League institution first reached out to him, he thought it was too good to be true.

“The first experience I had with Ivy League Football was an email I got that I thought was a bot, so I thought it was fake,” explained Taylor. But after some guidance from the staff at Irmo, he learned it was in fact real, and they encouraged him to take a visit.

Taylor said it was being there and meeting with the players and staff that helped him figure out that he wanted to be a Bulldog.

“The people there, I loved everyone there, the coaches, the players, and just the environment was amazing. I think Yale has a really good program and they have a really good chance at winning.” he said.
