GREEN BAY, Wis. — Packers’ tight end Tucker Kraft is known for his blocking and threat in the intermediate passing game. He says he can do more.

“One thing I feel like, I could have done better was separate man to man,” said Kraft. “Most of my game was check downs underneath and my yards after catch ability. So, I’m looking to put it all together. I’m looking to have every resource I need, based off the repetitions I’ve gotten over and over and over this off season. The coaches, they play a key role in that, telling me what I need to work on, showing me how to do it, putting me on the field in position to work just the same routes over and over again.”

Kraft had a torn pectoral muscle last year during the offseason. Despite that, he had 50 catches for 707 yards and seven touchdowns last season. It has the Packers excited about what Kraft can do this season.

“Tuck is going to be a big part of the offense,” said Packers quarterback Jordan Love. “I think Tuck, since he’s stepped on the scene, has kind of shown who he is as a playmaker, and shown us reasons why we should just keep giving him the ball. I think a big part of going into this season is going to be finding ways to continue to get Tuck the ball, Get him as many touches as we can in a game, because he’s dynamic and does some really good things once he gets his hands on the ball.”

Not only does Kraft think he can be better this season, he thinks the whole Packers offense can reach another level. Assuming fellow tight end Luke Musgrave stays healthy, two tight-end formations could become common.

“Taking that next step forward,” said Kraft. “Really cleaning up a lot of the mistakes that we saw last year. Just full-on accountability moving forward.”

Tucker Kraft feels his third season with the Packers will be his best yet.
