The New York Jets have struggled to find a face-of-the-franchise quarterback over the previous 25 years. That makes setting the team’s Mount Rushmore a difficult task. Bleacher Report recently participated in that exercise for all 32 teams, naming each individual’s organization best quartet from 2000 onward.

For the Jets, they selected Darrelle Revis, Curtis Martin, Nick Mangold, and Nick Harris. Those are solid selections despite the lack of a quarterback.

“Like a handful of other teams, the New York Jets have struggled to find a face-of-the-franchise quarterback over the last 25 years,” Kristopher Knox wrote. “However, they’ve had some players worthy of a Mt. Rushmore, including cornerback Darrelle Revis.”

Revis was the best cornerback in the NFL for a lengthy period, coining the term, “Revis Island.” The former Pittsburgh standout was a four-time First-Team All-Pro selection. He’s already been inducted into the New York Jets Ring of Honor and Hall of Fame.

Martin was a five-time Pro Bowler and NFL rushing yards leader in 2004. He rushed for 1,000 yards in seven consecutive seasons with the Jets (1998-2004). Miraculously, Martin rushed for a career-high 1,697 yards in 2004, his second-last year with the Jets.

“Martin’s status as a Hall of Famer and a prolific Jet earned him a spot over other notable players like Shaun Ellis and Muhammad Wilkerson,” Knox added.

Mangold was the definition of consistency at center. Mangold qualified for seven Pro Bowls and anchored some outstanding offensive lines in East Rutherford. He spent his entire 11-year career with the Jets, making him a true all-time great for the franchise.

Harris, perhaps the most debatable pick, spent 10 memorable seasons with the Jets. He accumulated 1,088 tackles and set an NFL record with 20 solo tackles in a single game in 2007.
