Heading into free agency, the Los Angeles Rams had a clear plan to retain many of their own players. They re-signed Alaric Jackson and Tutu Atwell before they even hit the market, also bringing back Ahkello Witherspoon, Larrell Murchison, Troy Reeder and Jimmy Garoppolo.

At this point in the offseason, there aren’t many Rams free agents who remain unsigned. Just three players are still on the market: Joe Noteboom, John Johnson III and Conor McDermott.

OL Joe Noteboom

There’s almost no chance the Rams bring Noteboom back, given his $10 million dead cap charge that’s already on the books. Since signing a three-year, $40 million contract in 2022, he’s played just 24 games and made 18 starts, struggling with performance and health in that span.

He should catch on somewhere but it remains to be seen which team will give him a shot.

S John Johnson III

The Rams waited until July to bring back Johnson last offseason so he could remain available for a long time again this summer. He was limited to just two games due to a shoulder injury and there doesn’t seem to be any indication he’ll return to the Rams for the 2025 season.

OL Conor McDermott

McDermott was signed by the Rams last August but he suffered an undisclosed injury in the preseason and missed the entire 2024 campaign. The Rams could be open to bringing him back but they’re likely to give their undrafted rookie linemen a crack at the 53-man roster, too.
