Chicago Bears assistant head coach and wide receivers coach Antwaan Randle El in late May paid $860,000 for a five-bedroom, 4,058-square-foot house in Long Grove.
A Riverdale native and a standout at Thornton Township High School, Randle El, 45, starred as a quarterback at Indiana University, winning the 1998 Big Ten Freshman of the Year Award and snaring the Chicago Tribune Silver Football in 2001, which is an award presented to the most valuable player in the Big Ten Conference. He went on to play for nine seasons in the NFL before going into coaching. After serving as the Detroit Lions’ wide receivers coach from 2021 to 2024, Randle El was hired in January by the Bears as the wide receivers and assistant head coach alongside new head coach Ben Johnson, who previously had been the Lions’ offensive coordinator.
In Long Grove, Randle El’s new house was built in 2007 and has five bathrooms, two fireplaces, hardwood floor, a two-story foyer and a recently updated cedar shake roof. Other features include a family room with a stone-surround fireplace and a wall of windows, a first-floor guest suite, a primary bedroom suite with a walk-in closet and secret attic access and a kitchen with 42-inch cabinets, granite countertops, a large center island, upgraded stainless steel appliances and a breakfast area with sliding glass doors leading to the deck.
The lower level has a custom wet bar, a full bath with a walk-in shower, a ping-pong table and eight wide-screen TVs.
Lori Hooten of @properties Christie’s International Real Estate, who represented Randle El, declined to comment on the purchase.
The house had a $22,693 property tax bill in the 2023 tax year. It also has $156-a-month homeowners association dues.
