We will preview every player on the Cardinals roster leading up to training camp. This is about S Rabbit Taylor Demerson.
The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.
Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2024, questions they face and their roster outlook.
Next up is safety Dadrion Taylor-Demerson.
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson background, 2024 season
The man they call Rabbit came to the Cardinals from Texas Tech with a fourth-round pick in 2024 and made an impact in his first season, playing all 17 games and starting two when Jalen Thompson was inactive. He played 258 defensive snaps (24 percent) and 286 (65 percent) on special teams.
The versatile Taylor-Demerson totaled 35 tackles (22 solo, three for loss) on defense with one forced fumble and five passes defensed. On special teams, he had two tackles (one solo).
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson 2025 contract details, cap hit
In the second year of a four-year, $4.87 million contract, Taylor-Demerson’s salary is $960,000 this season with a salary-cap charge of $1.17 million.
2025 questions, roster outlook
Taylor-Demerson is the top safety backup behind Thompson and Budda Baker, so it will be intriguing to see how much defensive time he gets when those two are healthy. Only 5-foot-10 and 197 pounds (about the same size as Baker and Thompson), the main question is durability if more defensive snaps come his way.
