The Cincinnati Bengals and quarterback Joe Burrow were low-key thrilled to get tight end Mike Gesicki back this offseason.
Cincinnati keeping Gesicki from leaving via free agency marked the first time Burrow enjoyed some notable consistency at the tight end position in the offense.

Hence, Burrow mentioning Gesicki right alongside names such as Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins as offseason moves the Bengals needed to make.
Alas, Gesicki doesn’t show up at all in the annual tight end rankings from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, who polled NFL personnel league-wide to come up with the list.

Not that the Bengals will complain. In fact, they’ll probably outright disagree that Gesicki doesn’t deserve to be named one of the top 20 players at his position in the league, if including the “honorable mentions” and “also getting votes” sections.

Rest assured the 29-year-old Gesicki isn’t sweating it, either. He just had his most receiving yards in a season since 2021 with 665 and scored twice despite being the third option in the passing attack. If he can build on that after finally getting some continuity of his own, perhaps he shows up on lists like this next year.
