Titans ‘will have to break right, but there’s tremendous upside’ according to ESPN analyst who gave very high offseason grade originally appeared on A to Z Sports.
As training camps rapidly approach us, sports media is slowly cranking it back up into gear with some fun July lists and grades. Over at ESPN this week, analytics writer Seth Walder handed out complete offseason grades to each of the NFL’s 32 teams. And the Tennessee Titans received some high marks.

Walder had the Titans with the 6th highest grade, a B+ for their efforts in 2025 since finishing dead last in the league in 2024. Their biggest move was, unsurprisingly, deemed the drafting of Cam Ward. While it wasn’t much of a decision for the Titans, there’s no doubt it’s the move that will define their season and potentially make or break the jobs of many of people currently in charge.
The move Walder liked the most was the signing of RG Kevin Zeitler, which is something that I think may be going under-discussed in Nashville. The veteran guard has been largely out of sight and out of mind so far on this team, but the 35 year old undoubtedly still has it. He’s coming off of arguably a top-5 year at his position in Detroit. Walder points out in the article that he was ranked 6th in pass block win rate last year. It’s not crazy to think he may come in and immediately be the Titans best lineman.
The blurb also praises the aggressive move to sign LT Dan Moore to “complete” this offensive line and protect Cam Ward. Yes, the price of the contract was steep. But the alternatives were bleak, and Moore is a serviceable tackle: something you can’t take for granted in this league. He’s also coming off his best year, posting an 11th-best in the NFL 93% Pass Block Win Rate.
The move that Walder criticized was the contract handed to EDGE Dre’Mont Jones, who didn’t ever live up to the larger deal he signed in Seattle. While he should present a better pass rush option than what Harold Landry was for this team last year, it’s fair to wonder if that bump will be significant enough to really raise the team’s overall rush presence.

The Rams received the only A. The 49ers, Cardinals, and Broncos received an A-. And the Ravens, Titans, Bills, Eagles, Browns, Buccaneers, and Texans received a B+. As for the rest of the AFC South, the Colts received a B for a slew of fine moves such as signing S Cam Bynum and CB Charvarius Ward to shore up their secondary. The Jaguars received a C for the riskiness of the Travis Hunter trade and a slew of unliked moves, such as moving WR Christian Kirk and signing WR Dyami Brown to a 1yr/$10M deal.
