The NFL has briefly weighed in on the arrest of Cleveland Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins on Sunday morning.

Judkins, a second round NFL Draft pick out of Ohio State, was arrested on misdemeanor charges over the weekend. The former Ole Miss and Ohio State Buckeyes star was arrested on Saturday. He is facing charges of misdemeanor domestic battery.
An official for Fort Lauderdale Police Department Media Relations Unit released a statement.
“On July 12th, at approximately 9 a.m., Fort Lauderdale Police Officers responded to the 1500 block of West Cypress Creek Road in reference to a delayed battery. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the victim. During their preliminary investigation it was determined a battery had occurred. The officers made contact with the suspect and placed him into custody. He was transported to Broward County Main Jail. The suspect has been identified as Quinshon Judkins, DOB 10/29/2003 and has been charged with Misdemeanor Battery (Domestic) FSS 784.03-1a1.”

Judkins was reportedly held overnight on Saturday. He is reportedly set to have a hearing on Sunday.

The NFL Draft pick will eventually be facing possible punishment from the National Football League. He has yet to sign his rookie contract, too, which could complicate matters.
The NFL has made it clear that it is aware of what’s going on with Judkins.
From ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter: “The NFL is ‘aware of the matter but will decline further comment,’ per a league official.”

Judkins could end up having to sign a rookie contract worth less than 100 percent guaranteed.
