Broncos Wire‘s 90-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at third-year offensive lineman Alex Palczewski (pronounced pal-CHESS-key), No. 63.

Before the Broncos: Palczewski (6-6, 313 pounds) played college ball in the Big Ten with the Illinois Fighting Illini. In six seasons (2017-22), Palczewski played in and started 65 college games, making 49 starts at tackle and 16 starts at guard during his career. In 2022, Palczewski earned third-team AP All-America honors as well as second-team All-Big Ten, by not allowing a sack all year.

Broncos tenure: “Palcho,” as he is known among teammates and fans, was signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 NFL draft, having by far the most college experience of any man on the roster. In 2023, Palczewski spent 16 games on injured reserve, before being activated in Week 17. In 2024, Palcho played in 14 games, starting three, playing 180 snaps on offense and 67 snaps on special teams.

Chances to make the 53-man roster: Likely. Palczewski played well in relief of right tackle Mike McGlinchey last season before later suffering an injury of his own. Palczewski will likely remain the team’s top backup tackle in 2025.
