The Chicago Bears are preparing for the start of training camp in just about a week, but running back D’Andre Swift is already putting in the work away from Halas Hall.
Swift, who’s entering his second season with Chicago, is looking to bounce back after an up-and-down 2024 season where he fell just short of 1,000 rushing yards. And Swift is making sure to put in the time for extra work before reporting for training camp next week.

In a new video from J. Hicks, Swift is spotted going through a series of drills, and it looks like Swift is ready to hit the practice field with his teammates.
Swift is entering an important season with Chicago, where he needs to prove worthy of the three-year, $24 million contract that the Bears gave him. Chicago didn’t make any big moves at running back this offseason — although they did add Kyle Monangai in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL draft. So Swift enters the season as the presumed lead back once again — but there’s no guarantee the job will be his by season’s end.
Swift has the opportunity to bounce back with new head coach Ben Johnson leading the charge. Swift played under Johnson in Detroit back in 2022. Now, he’s reunited with one of the NFL’s brightest offensive minds. But will it be enough for Swift to prove he’s the guy? Or will the Bears be looking for a new lead back in 2026? The work begins later this month.
