Washington, D.C. radio host Kevin Sheehan was very direct in expressing his primary concern regarding Washington Commanders cornerback Marshon Lattimore.

On Friday, Sheehan, on his Team 980 AM morning show, went directly to the heart of the matter that he feels is staring everyone in the face concerning Lattimore: his availability.

“Marshon Lattimore has not been healthy and played a full season since 2021, his last Pro Bowl season,” began Sheehan. “He was in the moment in 2021 and even for parts of 2022 and 2023 considered a top-5ish corner, cover corner in the NFL.”

“But last year he played just nine of the 17 games. In 2023, he missed seven games; in 2022, he missed ten games. His biggest issue has been availability. He has to prove that he can be available to this team for a significant majority of the games. And then he’s got to prove that he can play much better than the way he played, after they acquired him, when he was getting torched on the regular by the likes of A..J. Brown and others.”

The Commanders gave up three draft choices for Lattimore because they wanted to obtain Lattimore during the midseason trading period. Had they waited until after the season, Lattimore’s value would no doubt have been much lower, with his having battled injury for much of 2024.

Sheehan, therefore, was correct, and Lattimore, consequently, has much to prove in 2025.
