The Moose is loose.

As noted as part of the NFL’s transaction wire from Monday, the Carolina Panthers have officially waived wide receiver Moose Muhammad III off injured reserve. Muhammad, who was previously waived with an injury designation, went unclaimed and reverted back to the team’s injured reserve in late May.

Carolina signed Muhammad, son of franchise legend Muhsin Muhammad, as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 NFL draft. Prior to his jump into the pros, the Charlotte, N.C. native played five seasons at Texas A&M University—where he totaled 81 receptions for 1,163 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Muhammad was recently included on the Canadian Football League’s Negotiation List, which opens up his eligibility to play up north. His negotiation rights are owned by the Calgary Stampeders—who have the ability to add, remove or trade the 24-year-old wideout within the CFL.
