With the 2025 NFL draft behind us, let’s take a very early look ahead to who the Indianapolis Colts’ unrestricted free agents are.
With the 2025 NFL draft behind us and the Indianapolis Colts’ roster largely set for the upcoming season, let’s take a way-too-early look ahead to who the team’s upcoming free agents are in 2026.
Depending on how the 2025 season unfolds, we are either going to see a strong foundation laid for future seasons if things go well, or if things go poorly and the Colts again miss the playoffs, there is likely to be a heavy amount of change.
Ultimately, the direction that the Colts head in 2026 will likely be determined by the level of quarterback play they get in 2025 from either Anthony Richardson or Daniel Jones.
Of course, how each of these upcoming free agents performs this season will play a pivotal role in determining whether or not many of them return, but the direction that the franchise is headed could play a factor as well for some of these players.
The Colts’ 2026 free agent class is headlined by Bernhard Raimann, Alec Pierce, Kwity Paye, Braden Smith, and Nick Cross, among others.
With help from Over the Cap, here are the Colts’ unrestricted free agents for the 2026 offseason.
OT Bernhard Raimann
Raimann has developed into one of the better left tackles in all of football and really between where we are now and free agency beginning next March, he is an extension candidate and someone you would expect sticks around, regardless of how this season unfolds.
WR Alec Pierce
Pierce had a breakout season in 2024, totaling 824 yards and seven touchdowns, while being one of the NFL’s best deep threat wide receivers. Replicating and building upon that production in 2025 will lead to a good-sized payday next offseason.
S Nick Cross
Taking over as the Colts’ strong safety in 2024, Cross’ growth and development last season were one of the bright spots on the Indianapolis defense. He was a reliable tackler, held opponents to just 9.3 yards per catch, and had three interceptions.
DE Kwity Paye
Paye is playing out the 2025 season on his fifth-year option, which the Colts picked up last offseason. Paye continues to hold his own as a run defender and had 37 pressures last season, the most he’s had since his rookie year. In the last two drafts, the Colts selected Laiatu Latu in Round 1 and JT Tuimoloau in Round 2, and their presence could potentially impact Paye’s future with the team.
OT Braden Smith
The Colts reworked Smith’s contract for the 2025 season, which lowered his cap hit. Of course, how things playout this year will impact what happens in 2026, but the Colts have prepared for Smith’s potential departure by drafting Matt Goncalves and Jalen Travis over the last two years.
