Broncos Wire‘s 90-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at second-year offensive lineman Nick Gargiulo, No. 66.
Before the Broncos: Gargiulo (6-5, 310 pounds) started his college football career at Yale (2018-2022) before transferring to South Carolina for a sixth and final year (he did not play in 2020 due to COVID-19). He began his final college season as a left guard before moving to center. Gargiulo served as a team captain for the Gamecocks and was named a third-team All-SEC lineman following the 2023 season. He then entered the NFL draft as a versatile lineman with experience at center, left tackle and left guard.

Broncos tenure: Denver picked Gargiulo in the seventh round of last year’s NFL draft. The Broncos viewed him primarily as a guard who could fill in at center if needed. After failing to make the 53-man roster, Gargiulo spent his rookie season on the practice squad.
Chances to make the 53-man roster: Toss-up. Gargiulo will get an opportunity to compete for a backup swing guard/center spot this summer, but he’ll face tough competition. Quinn Meinerz, Luke Wattenberg and Ben Powers are locked into the three interior starting spots, and Alex Forsyth is the top backup center. Gargiulo’s competition will likely include Will Sherman, Xavier Truss and Clay Webb. If he’s not able to crack the active roster in Year 2, Gargiulo will once again be a top candidate for the practice squad.
