The New York Jets have been busy this week, reportedly inking two of their young stars to mega-deals.

Over the past two days, the Jets have handed out nine-figure contracts to both cornerback Sauce Gardner and wide receiver Garrett Wilson. Between the two deals, the Jets have committed over $250 million in salary.

The Jets seemed to acknowledge the news in a pair of tweets alluding to “No.5″ (Wilson) and “Sauce” (Gardner).

New York’s spending spree starts Monday when the team reportedly locked up Wilson to a four-year, $130 million contract that includes $90 million guaranteed.

On Tuesday, news broke that the Jets are making Gardner the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history with a four-year, $120.4 million deal that includes $60 million in guaranteed money.

The Jets haven’t had much overall success in recent years. But they do have a pair of young stars in the form of Gardner and Wilson.

The 24-year-old Gardner has quickly established himself as one of the top cornerbacks in the league, making the Pro Bowl and All-Pro First Team in each of his first two seasons. He was also named the Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2022.

Wilson, meanwhile, has gone over 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first three seasons. That includes being named Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2022.

The Jets haven’t had a winning record since 2015 and have gone 19-39 since 2022, the year they drafted Gardner and Wilson in the first round.

However, they do have a pair of young stars to build around. After this week’s news, it looks like New York won’t be losing them any time soon.
