S. WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – We’re just over 3 weeks away from the start of the Philadelphia Eagles pre-season. A beverage company here in the Lehigh Valley is celebrating the two-time Super Bowl Champions in a big way while poking fun at one of their employees who roots for the enemy.
“Banko Beverage has been in business for 92 years,” said Joe Marino, Vice President of Sales at Banko Beverage Company.
The beer giant started as a soda distributor in 1933, the same year the Philadelphia Eagles joined the National Football League.
Now in 2025, Banko Beverage Co. distributes beer, seltzers and cocktails to 10 Pennsylvania counties. Their most popular clients? Birds fans.
“Eagles is very, very important to us and it’s crazy how passionate the Eagles fans are. Miller Lite is our flagship here, Miller Brewing Company. When we see Eagles and we can drive Eagles all over town, we can’t miss an opportunity like that,” Marino told us.
Last week, the company got a brand-new delivery truck and gifted it to Jarrett Weiss who’s driven for Banko for 20 years.
“I was excited. I’m like, 20 years, I’ve never had a new truck before,” Weiss recalled.
But, he doesn’t bleed green.
“We took it and decided, who better could we give it to than Jarrett who is a big Dallas fan so now he gets to drive around with an Eagles billboard all day,” Marino stated.
Although he has a Cowboys hat sitting on the dash, he’s driving midnight green five days a week.
“A lot of times I pull up places and like I’ll come up and they’re like we want to see the truck. ‘No Jarrett, we don’t want you in the picture.’ So, it’s kind of funny. It’s all in good fun around here,” Weiss said.
