It appears Von Miller has found his next NFL home.
Miller, a DeSoto product and former Texas A&M star, is expected to sign with the Washington Commanders ahead of the 2025 season. The veteran pass rusher took to Instagram on Wednesday night to announce his free agency move.
Miller’s Instagram post included an edit of himself wearing a Commanders uniform. He donned the No. 24 in the post.

Washington would be Miller’s fourth NFL team. He spent 10 years with the Denver Broncos and was traded to the Los Angeles Rams during the 2021 season. After winning a Super Bowl in L.A., Miller signed with the Buffalo Bills.
Miller spent the last three seasons in Buffalo. Joining the Commanders means he would get a chance to face his hometown Dallas Cowboys twice in 2025.
Miller notably missed four games during the 2024 season after being suspended by the league for violating its personal conduct policy. Miller was accused in November of 2023 of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend at their home outside Dallas during the Bills’ bye week. He turned himself in to police after being accused of third-degree felony assault of a pregnant woman, which is punishable by two to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
The woman and Miller have been in a relationship for seven years and have two other children together.
No charges have been filed. Miller said in July 2024 he considered the case closed based on feedback from his attorneys.
Miller has posted 129.5 sacks throughout his NFL career, currently ranking 16th on the league’s list of leaders for the statistic. His list of accolades also includes two Super Bowl wins. Miller was named Super Bowl MVP during his title win with the Broncos in 2016.
