As the Tennessee Titans approach training camp, one of the biggest questions that remains somewhat of a mystery is the status of cornerback L’Jarius Sneed.
After trading away valuable draft capital to acquire Sneed from the Kansas City Chiefs, the veteran cornerback was a massive disappointment in his first season with the Titans. He never appeared comfortable in 2024 and struggled early in the season before being placed on injured reserve, where he missed the majority of the year due to a leg injury.

Fast forward to the offseason, where this leg injury continued to keep Sneed out of action, preventing him from participating in OTAs and minicamp. Now, with days before camp, Sneed proclaims to be healthy, but at this point, questions remain.
Once viewed as one of the top cornerbacks in the league, Sneed’s disastrous 2024 season has him falling out of favor outside the organization.
In his recent breakdown of the top cornerbacks fueled by executives, coaches, and scouts, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN barely mentions Sneed, who sits outside the top 10. Listed as an honorable mention, Sneed doesn’t receive a glowing review.
L’Jarius Sneed, Tennessee Titans:
“I know he had a rough year with injuries and some off-the-field stuff, but he was really good for three years [in Kansas City]. The Chiefs must have known it was a good time to walk away.” — NFL personnel evaluator
Tennessee has made a significant investment in Sneed and needs him to bounce back in a big way during the 2025 season. The Titans lack experienced depth at the cornerback position, and if Sneed is healthy and can return to being the player he was with the Chiefs, their defense could be significantly improved over what was deployed during the dismal 2024 season.
