Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba enjoyed a breakout season as a sophomore in 2024. The former Ohio State standout recorded team-highs in every major receiving category, posting 100 catches for 1,130 yards and six touchdowns. JSN was the Seahawks’ go-to receiver in the passing game.

ESPN has been releasing their top-10 position rankings daily leading up to training camp. With such fierce competition at the position, Smith-Njigba unfortunately didn’t make the list, with Mike Evans and Garrett Wilson claiming the final two spots. JSN did fall into the “also received votes” category, however.

Smith-Njigba tied for ninth in the league in receptions last season. The 2023 first-round pick also finished 12th in yards and tied for 35th in touchdowns. The metrics strongly suggest he’s a borderline top-10 receiver, but more TD production could be needed to gain league-wide recognition.

After trading DK Metcalf to the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier this offseason, JSN is Seattle’s unquestioned no. 1 receiver. Cooper Kupp was signed to provide veteran depth and production, but JSN is the rising star. If he manages to replicate last season’s form in 2025, he could make ESPN’s top 10 rankings list next offseason.
